O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight
At Christmas we celebrate God becoming part of creation as a human baby who grew to live a human life that was just as full of celebration, adventure and suffering as yours or mine. God is not distant. God is right here with us!
